Olympic Distance Triathlon in Dubrovnik
Earth, Sea & Fire – Dubrovnik Triathlon is a multi-day multi-sport event offering all athletes two distances:
Sprint 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run and Olympic 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run.
The Olympic distance triathlon starts right after the start of the Sprint Distance. After the race briefing, the athletes will enter the calm waters of the Sea Harbour of Dubrovnik. Official swimming caps are obligatory, and swim suits will be allowed if water temperatures will be under 22 C. Two laps will have to be done in 45 minutes for the Olympic Distance Triathlon Swim in Dubrovnik.
THE DUBROVNIK OLYMPIC DISTANCE TRIATHLON
After exiting the waters a very close transition on the pier, participants head for 4 laps of 10 km by bike. The Bike Course is set on a nicely paved road traffic free. This is a non-draft race so athletes are not allowed to ride using the draft of the biker in front, especially in groups or together. The bike is fast flat and biker friendly. This is a picturesque ride along the Dubrovnik River and through the Dubrovnik Harbour. Directions are shown by race officials so you cannot miss any turn points! After completing your 40 km bike laps, you enter the transition smoothly after dismounting before the dismount line.
The run will be on a flat run course in the Harbour area. The area with local parks, markets, and lovely Dalmatian boats tied up to the sea promenade of Dubrovnik. This is one of the easiest and nicest run courses your will ever experience, PB’s a re challenged here.
On the run course you will be greeted and cheered by local supporters as well as your family and friends! Our DUBROVNIK TRIATHLON TEAM will make sure you get some water each lap as you will be running fast there. This Olympic distance Triathlon in Dubrovnik is the crown race of the traditional two day October Triathlon Event in South of Croatia.
