The Old City is a UNESCO HERITAGE, really a “Pearl of the Adriatic Sea”. Old Town Dubrovnik as well as the Harbour Area and other smaller local gems have a great number of accommodation choices. There is a big number of bars, bistros, restaurants, shops and markets all arround. Recreational wise you can swim at all public beaches free, its safe and clean. Jog around parks and streets, bike respecting traffic rules on all roads. In Dubrovnik there is also a great public indoor 50m Olympic size pool where you can visit and do some speed work or swim technique session at your choice. Pool entrance fee is paid in cash on spot. Make sure to check for working hours for the public swimming option.
